  • What are the various types of guardianship?

There are various types of guardians. Guardians include professional guardians, whose actual job is to act as guardian for a ward. These individuals have a special education and continuing education requirements that must be maintained in order to act as a professional guardian. There are also guardians who are considered non-professional guardians. These guardians are typically family and friends of the ward and they choose to act out of love. There are also guardian advocates, who are individuals that act as guardians for individuals who have developmental disabilities.
