    Aid & Attendance Benefits

Aid and Attendance is a non-service connected benefit, which means the injury or disability does not have to be service related. The benefit may be available to individuals over the age of 65 or under 65 years old with a qualifying disability. The disability requirements include needing aid to perform daily personal functions, being bedridden, blind, or in a nursing home for a physical or mental incapacity.

    Qualifying for Assistance

In order to qualify for Aid and Attendance benefits, the veteran must meet certain requirements based on service, need, and disability qualifications. This is a need-based benefit, so there are income and asset limits to qualify for the benefit.
